Communications "Wizard" (Intern) - Rural Futures Institute (Lincoln, NE)

Rural Futures Institute (RFI) is seeking a driven, action-oriented, high-energy University of Nebraska student for social media and project management magic. Through this paid ($11/hour), you support both the Rural Futures Institute (this website) as well as the National Strategic Research Institute. This experience will absolutely expand your leadership and professional skills as well as your comfort zone and network. We need a commitment of 15-30 hours per week, but we’re flexible in terms of exact days and times as well as in-office vs. remote location.

Requirements:
> Team player who is willing to take constructive feedback, but also advocate for their ideas
> Extremely detail oriented
> Ability to hit multiple deadlines a week
> Enthusiasm to go big (ex: write campaign briefs, roll out social media campaigns) WHILE ALSO getting into the weeds (ex: develop time lines, mailing lists)
> Knowledgeable in technical aspects of social media platforms
> Excellent platform-specific writing skills — we use AP style
> Up-to-date understanding of current trends and tools
> Again, willingness and confidence to dig into research and details

Preferences: will commit to working with us from October 2019 – May 2020.

Responsiblities:
> Embrace and execute within the RFI brand and NSRI brand (brand guide in development!)
> Draft content, campaign and design briefs
> Execute various tedious elements within said briefs
> Enter project timelines and tasks into project management system
> Write and publish daily social media and web content
> Report metrics regularly
> Bring new ideas forward!
