Marketing & Communications Intern - University of Nebraska High School (Lincoln, NE)

University of Nebraska High School (UNHS) is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern to assist with several facets of promotional outreach.

The UNHS Marketing & Communications Intern will be expected to fulfill the following duties on a regular basis:
> Assist in the planning, development, writing, editing, publishing, and evaluation of marketing communications including, but not limited to, social media, student stories, mass emails, newsletters, blog posts, and website content.
> Assist in the coordination of graphic design execution for marketing and social media campaigns as well as other communication processes as directed. This may include videography, photography, and direct mailing duties.
> Effectively communicate with both on-site staff and off-site students and parents to secure content and approval for communication materials.

Reporting relationship: the UNHS Marketing & Communications Intern will report to the UNHS Marketing & Communications Associate.

Hours: a 15-hour minimum per week with the option for more hours if both parties agree, and with the possibility for additional hours during the summer and other semester breaks. A schedule of working hours is set for each month or per semester. The ability to schedule blocks of time a few days a week is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
Seeking students who have successfully completed course work in English, journalism, marketing, advertising, communications, writing, or relevant business courses. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, WordPress, and Adobe Acrobat expected. Knowledge of social media management platform, Hootsuite, preferred. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud a plus. Candidates should have solid communication skills, be detail oriented, professional, enthusiastic to learn, open to feedback, take responsibility for projects, and be assertive to share ideas. Junior-level standing or higher preferred.
