We want a go-getter with solid news judgment and journalistic ethics, someone who will go beyond the daily police briefing and dig for stories that will engage our loyal audience and bring in new readers on all platforms.
Candidates must also:
> Write clearly, accurately, swiftly and with empathy.
> Be comfortable using digital tools to push out news, tell stories in new ways and engage readers.
> Juggle large and small assignments while carving out time for enterprise work.
> Use analytics data to determine what Journal Star readers want more of.
> Previous reporting experience is preferred, but recent graduates who have successfully completed internships and with a proven ability to write clearly and accurately are encouraged to apply.
