Digital Design and Training Intern - Valmont Industries, Inc. (Valley, NE)

The Digital Design & Training Intern will work directly with our Global Learning team, creating various types of learning resources for Valmont customers, dealers, agents and employees. The Intern will partner with subject matter experts to analyze learning needs and develop effective training materials that drive key business objectives. The incumbent will discover how a Learning Management System (LMS) is used to drive employee development in a corporate setting. In addition, they will gain experience in general LMS administration, including online course publishing, end-user technical support and basic reporting.

Valmont’s internship program mission is to provide a hands-on learning experience through project work, leadership development, job shadowing and interaction with senior leadership.

Essential Functions:
> Develop a variety of training materials including eLearning courses, tutorial videos, instructor-led training workshops, and other multimedia resources
> Partner with subject matter experts to analyze the training needs of various stakeholders
> Utilize adult learning principles and instructional strategies to design impactful training programs
> Provide project management and design support to other eLearning Instructional Designers
> Review, test, and implement online training resources in the Valmont LMS
> Provide technical support to end-users of the Valmont LMS
> This position reports into the Manager of Global Learning and has no direct reports
> This role does not require travel (internationally/domestically), or overnight stays

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
> Junior or Senior pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Journalism, Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, Education, Creative Media, Computer Science or Web Design
> A minimum of 3.0 GPA
> Previous experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: instructional design, graphic design, multimedia production, training facilitation, video production, or digital marketing
> Experience using digital video and audio production equipment
> Ability to dedicate up to 40 hours per week for on-site projects in Valley, NE
> Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook)
> Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
> Proven experience with Adobe Audition, Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign, Photoshop, and Camtasia
> Proven experience delivering face-to-face training
> Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Russian, and/or Arabic

> Ability to use eLearning course authoring tools including Articulate 360
> Ability to learn video and audio production methods techniques, software and equipment

> Ability to think creatively to make learning resources understandable, interactive and engaging
> Ability to execute basic administrative and reporting tasks in the Valmont LMS
