The Associated Press (AP) is looking for a stringer to report primary election results from Columbus, Neb., (Platte County) on the evening of May 12th.
The duties are as follows:
1.) Report to the county tabulation site in Columbus shortly before close of polls – at least 15 minutes before 8 p.m. CDT.
2.) Obtain report of results from the county election office.
3.) Phone them in to our central tabulation location in New Jersey.
4.) There is no need to write an article or take photographs.
You will be asked to stay on-site until the final report of the evening is made. You will be provided:
1.) Credential.
2.) Detailed instructions, including contact information for the county election office and, of course, the number to call to report your results.
The pay is $85 for the evening, which probably will be about five hours, plus whatever travel time is required to get to the site. AP does not usually pay mileage for this position.
AP pays via direct deposit, so a W-9 and direct-deposit form will be required and provided by AP.
Anyone interested can contact Keith Morse at KMorse@ap.org.
