Get hands-on experience with a creative national nonprofit marketing team. Work with professional tools and learn business strategies that can build your resume for graduation--all while being employed by an organization that empowers and engages American Indian and Alaska Native people to share stories through Public Television.
The primary role of the student worker includes but is not limited to: brainstorming, research, writing copy and scheduling social media aligned with the company brand.
Responsibilities:
> Collaborate with Marketing & Creative specialist to generate, edit, schedule, publish and share engaging content daily
> Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
> Oversee social media account's design (cover photos, profile pictures)
> Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness (promotions, competitions)
> Monitor and research current trends and audience preferences and report to team lead
> Perform weekly analytics, report on social media feedback
> Assist in database entry, collecting and analyzing data
> Any other tasks held by other departments
Skills/Experience:
> Experience with social media scheduling software (such as Hootsuite, SproutSocial, etc)
> Understanding the diversity in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram)
> Writing/copy-editing experience
> Basic media/graphics design awareness
> Familiarity with social media insights and reporting methods
> Ability to collaborate and communicate within a team environment
> Positive attitude, ability to work independently, and meet deadlines
12-20 hours per week during working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Position may be extended into the future semesters and summer.
