Marketing Internship - mHub (remote)

The mHub is a global network of mental health organizations that help people achieve mental and emotional wellbeing. We are a social purpose business that strive to bridge the gaps in access and quality of mental health services worldwide. While our courses and trainings are designed for a global audience, our physical work particularly targets low- and middle-income countries in
Africa.

mHub was founded in 2020 by a global team in response to the overwhelming burden of mental illness that was further aggravated by the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. mHub Global is part of GEI’s head office in New York and administered from GEI’s European headquarters in Berlin. Local mHub Centers and Clinics exist in Nairobi/Kenya, Kigali/Rwanda, and Cape Town/South Africa.

Launched in July 2020 mHub is in its developing phase and is actively prospecting while structures, systems and roles are being set up. To boost and support our digital marketing effort, we are interested in a creative and forward-thinking intern to support us in the following tasks:

1. Research and content creation:
> Research - changes and opportunities in the sector
> Competitors’ communication strategy monitoring
> Content creation – marketing and sales related
> Documentation innovation

2. Social Media management (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn):
> Consolidating and implementing the current strategy
> Creating visuals
> Planning and writing posts for all channels
> Community creation and management
> Editing and posting YouTube videos

3. Online training platform marketing (Teachable)

4. SEO:
> WordPress website improvement and content publishing
> Website analytics and tracking
> Link-building outreach via Influencers

5. Paid advertising:
> Planning, executing, and measuring the performance of advertising campaigns via Google Ads, Facebook Ads and LinkedIn Ads

We know the perfect candidate doesn’t exist. At mHub, we look for people with an entrepreneur mindset and ready to learn, quickly test their assumptions, maybe fail sometimes and try again differently.

Qualifications/special skills desired:
> Bachelor degree (or higher) in marketing, communication, IT, entrepreneurship or similar
> Excellent copywriting and/or content writing in English
> Good knowledge of design technics for social media
> Understanding of metrics and analytics
> Experience in creating an online community is strongly desired
> Experience in digital marketing will be beneficial
> Experience within a start-up will be beneficial
> Proficient in any Design software (Adobe, etc.) will be beneficial
> Aware of or interested in globally impactful work in the mental health & wellbeing and social innovation space will be beneficial
