The mission of the Institutional Giving Department is to build and sustain APM|MPR capacity for quality programming by securing revenue of five, six and seven figure grants and helping ensure the success of grant–funded programs. The Development Officer will focus primarily on acquiring and managing both general operating and project-specific grants from regional foundations, private and corporate, for MPR’s diverse portfolio of news and music content. The Development Officer works closely with the Director of Institutional Giving and MPR program leaders to cultivate and manage relationships with regional foundations, to secure financial support, and to ensure cross division grant-funded activities are successfully implemented. The Development Officer will also lead the management of the State of Minnesota’s Legacy Amendment grant, which funds MPR arts content. . The Development Officer works collaboratively as part of a small team focused on institutional giving, and also with APM/MPR’s individual giving, membership, and underwriting teams to strategically manage and maximize our relationships with a wide community of supporters.
