Intern Needed: Account Service/Writing Intern

If you are looking for an internship where you will get great experience while working with a fun, hardworking group of people look no further than the role of the Account Service and Writing Intern at Nelnet! The purpose of this position is to assist with the development of Nelnet’s marketing initiatives, including project coordination and copywriting, aid in the research and execution of social media initiatives, and provide metric reporting for Nelnet and its various lines of business. This internship position is 20 hours a week during the semester, with the potential of 40 hours a week in the summer.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (List up to ten major responsibilities or activities of the job.)

• Open new projects in Function Point and assist with updates as needed
• Manage small projects from beginning to end
• Assist as needed with research (copyright searches, etc.)
• Help edit copy and/or create copy where appropriate
• Manage business accounts on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn and other social media sites
• Understand and research trends and best practices in social media and make recommendations for implementation
• Assist and manage social media campaign development through research, writing, and updating posts and pins
• Maintain social media strategy documents as needed
• Track, update, and distribute metrics reports for Nelnet’s lines of business, including daily, weekly and monthly
• Maintain social media metrics reports, by pulling predefined metrics on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis

EDUCATION: (Describe the minimum education required for the job. Preferred education may be provided as well.)
Minimum 1-2 years in marketing or advertising field of study or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE: (Describe the number of years and types of experience required for the job.)
Any previous related experience with the outlined responsibilities is a plus.
