The Society of Professional Journalists is seeking 12 interns for the EIJ News. Interns will cover EIJ15 using a variety of digital approaches (video, social, audio, photos, written stories) that will be published online. Collegiate multimedia journalists are invited to apply for these select positions.
This year’s conference is set for September 18-20 in Orlando, Fla. Selected interns will need to arrive in Orlando on Thursday, Sept. 17 and attend a mandatory 3 p.m. staff meeting. The internship ends Monday, Sept. 21 at Noon.

Please note that applications without a résumé, cover letter and samples will not be considered.
You provide:
— Energy, talent, great ideas and a good attitude
— Your transportation to and from Orlando
— Interns will be responsible for providing their own laptop for writing and production.
— Interns will be responsible for providing their own tools capable of capturing video, audio and photos.
— Selected interns will have out-of-pocket expenses to cover. (Examples: Meals not provided by EIJ15 and incidental room expenses).
EIJ provides:
— Complimentary convention registration
— Complimentary accommodations at convention hotel (Four nights will be covered and interns will be paired with another intern for rooming purposes).
— Some, but not all, meals
— Mentoring by professional journalists
— Networking venues
— A place to showcase your talents in front of many professionals
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must:
— Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in journalism or a related field
— Not graduate before the start of the internship
— Be available to be in Orlando from Sept. 17-21, 2015.
— Past interns of SPJ’s The Working Press or the EIJ News are not eligible to apply.
— Though membership in SPJ is not mandatory to apply, preference will be given to members of SPJ during the selection process.

— Completed application
— Cover letter (upload with application form)
— Résumé (include three references with complete contact information and upload with application form)
— Up to three working links or attached files with multimedia content you have written and/or produced, including stories, photos, slideshows and audio/video packages.
— Information about your existing social media footprint (Twitter, Vine, Tumblr, etc.).
