Wellness Internship

UNL Wellness Services & Fitness Programs is seeking an intern to work on advocacy. The internship is paid, $10 an hour.

Responsibilities include:
• Work closely with the Assistant Director of Wellness Services & Fitness Programs at UNL and the Chancellor’s Committee on Wellness to coordinate efforts for the UNL Wellness Initiative
• Be a student representative on the Chancellor’s Committee on Wellness (meets 2nd Thursday/month @ 2-3pm)
• Help AD for WS & FP develop a strategic plan for workplace wellness efforts at the wellness ambassador/department/college levels.
• Supporting updates on UNL wellness initiative social media accounts including website blog posts
• Online and interpersonal interactions with the UNL community to improve overall wellness of our campus community (through Wellness Ambassador Program)
• Support the planning and staffing of UNL Wellness events
• Photography and videography
• Assist with measurement and analytics

Qualifications include:
• Have a passion for wellness, public health, and marketing
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills (including proofreading)
• Have a strong knowledge of social networking channels
• Possess a friendly and positive attitude
• Must be available for Chancellor’s Committee meetings (3rd Thursday of the month 2-3 p.m.)
• Must have interest in wellness
• Should be available for at least fall 2015 and spring 2016, potential for longer appointment

Interested candidates should:

• Put together a brief proposal, covering:
o Specific highlights & suggestions concerning the website/Facebook page to increase awareness/promotion of wellness initiative
• Consider two of the following programs/events and demonstrate a proposal for building awareness/excitement/participation these. (Choose only 2. You can find descriptions on wellness.unl.edu.)
o Wellness on Wheels Program
o Fit@Work
o Demonstration Kitchen/Cooking Classes
• Set up a time for in-person interviews in which candidates present 15 min (total) on above.
