The Arbor Day Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees. The Arbor Day Foundation is seeking an exceptional individual to join our Related Business Ventures team to lead our Travel with Arbor Day conservation travel program for our members. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of planning the trip including defining the agenda and speakers, developing the marketing plan, and ultimately recruiting members to join us. In addition, this individual will be asked to support marketing initiatives for the Ventures team to help support the growth of our work. A highly motivated individual with a proven track record who excels in event planning and marketing is our ideal candidate.
Responsibilities:
Ownership of the Travel with the Arbor Day Foundation program – including planning and
execution of the trip logistics as well as the marketing tactics
Work with other departments across the Foundation to initiate projects and execute on time
Assist with the management of projects and timelines to ensure all aspects of the program are
effectively delivered
Development/editing of copy for emails, blogs, etc. to generate member interest in the trip
Industry research, where applicable to identify the best experts and speakers to host our
members
Build a strong working relationship with our tour operator to ensure we bring the best possible
trip to our members
Provide exceptional customer service to members, partners or prospects
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
A passion for the Foundation's mission, nature, environmental stewardship, and people
Motivated, goal-oriented individual who can manage projects, meet deadlines & exceed
expectations
Strong, effective communicator, both written and oral
Effective collaborator and liaison to other areas of the foundation
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, engaged team member with high degree of professionalism
Completed or working towards a college degree in Marketing (or a related field)
Event planning experience is a plus
Timing/Hours:
January-December (required to work through the summer)
20 hours/week
