Yahoo News in Omaha is in need of four Production Assistants on April 28-30. The PAs’ duties may include; driving, picking/taking lunch orders, setting up equipment, interviewing MOSs, etc. The rate is $125 for 10 hours per day. We’re looking for students who have a strong journalistic background that are inclined to one-man-band reporting and editing in the future.
Below is a brief job description of the position.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Provide daily facilities and organizational support to client(s) utilizing a corporate conference center on a freelance basis.
The function of this position will range in scope from event coordination to client services to meeting, event set-up, setting up interviews, working with gear, etc. This position requires a passion for production and/or news.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
• Provide personalized assistance, resolving client needs for meetings and events; providing fast and accurate responses to client requests, ensuring high standards of customer service
• Provide operational support of the multimedia needs
• Inspect shoot location to ensure that they conform to customer requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
• Outstanding customer service orientation including professional presence and superior client relationship skills
• Familiar with systems and procedures related to interviews
• Familiar with basic audio visual equipment or ability to learn
• Ability to work effectively with senior management, production colleagues in a corporate environment
• Proficiency with MS Office and ability to learn proprietary software and systems
• Must be capable of working at heights and have good balance, may be required to lift heavy equipment up to 50 pounds
