Paid Journalism Internship, Nebraska Legislature

The Nebraska Legislature’s Unicameral Information Office is seeking a student journalist to assist in the production of the Unicameral Update’s Daily News Brief videos during the upcoming legislative session. The intern will be responsible for recording an audio voiceover from a script, editing audio and video clips and posting the finished video to our YouTube channel.

The ideal candidate will have experience in audio recording and video production/editing and an interest in state government. This is a paid position of $10.37/hr. Shifts will be in the afternoons, 10-20 hours per week from January through May 2017.

Submit one letter of reference obtained from a college or university faculty member who is aware of your academic performance.

Work Samples:
Submit two writing samples and two audio or video clips featuring your voice.

Additional Information:
Applicants must be:
-enrolled in an accredited journalism school in Nebraska;
-in good academic standing with his or her university
-a sophomore, junior or senior.

This application and all related materials must be received by the Unicameral Information Office no later than Oct. 28, 2016. All materials submitted are for confidential use of the Nebraska Legislature.
