Video Producer/Editor, Duncan Aviation (Lincoln)

The Video Producer/Editor is responsible for planning, coordinating, shooting, producing, editing and disseminating videos that are consistent with the Duncan Aviation brand. To accomplish the essential functions, the person in this position communicates with and works alongside various teams to develop video products that support Duncan Aviation’s sales, management, professional development and other internal or external customers.

Essential Job Functions:

-Works in collaboration with internal and external resources to plan video products that are consistent with the Duncan Aviation brand and that will be used in social media, on the website, at trade shows, in presentations and in internal and external company communications. This requires excellent communication skills with teams from across the company and includes collaborating with others to develop storyboards and scripts or interview questions and prompts when necessary. Always keeps safety regulations and workplace diversity in mind.
-Conducts field-based video production, which includes site surveys, interacting with clients and peers and operating all portable video and audio equipment while capturing the best possible videography for the circumstances. This includes transportation and set-up of lights and audio equipment as required and the ability to provide limited troubleshooting and maintenance of field production equipment. This position will also collect b-roll footage of all Duncan Aviation campuses.
-Plans and performs video post-production tasks, which includes reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, tape logging, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, and final editing. Utilizes computer graphics and special effects for video post-production, compresses video for output, captures and archives recorded video and makes video products available in a variety of formats. Produces video animation as required for videos and presentations.
-Understands requirements for video lighting and sound and makes recommendations regarding the set-up and equipment needed for an in-house video and photo studio as well as for all video editing software, video cameras, lights and sound equipment.
-Shoots still photography as required for marketing-related activities, often at short notice.
-Leverages creativity, imagination and inventive expertise regarding video and visual communications to help marketing communications team plan an integrated, visual communications plan for all media, including website, social media and tablet publications.
-Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Physical: Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, occasionally across uneven terrain and steps

Other:
-Proficiency with various software including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition required
-Progressively responsible experience of at least two years in a professional video editing/production environment, demonstrating competence in all areas of video production required
-Knowledge of professional video production procedures, practices, techniques and terminology; studio production with multi-camera shooting; cinematography; principles of digital video capture; lighting conditions and their effect on video; audio conditions and how to optimize it for video; a variety of cameras
-Self-motivated and ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
-Knowledge of proper safety practices, including (but not limited to) the use of ladders.
-Reliable transportation to drive around Duncan Aviation’s Lincoln campus required.
Ability to work with many personalities and sometimes unrealistic and ever-changing schedules.

Education and Experience:

-Bachelor or Associate degree with related coursework in the various stages of video production or equivalent professional experience required
-Minimum two years previous related experience in professional video production from start to finish required
