Social Media Internship, Lincoln Parks Foundation

Lincoln Parks Foundation is currently looking for an intern with experience in social media and/or design. Our intern/s will be in charge of drafting and publishing written and visual content for our social media platforms. Currently, we use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, but there are opportunities to expand our social media presence. We’re looking for applicants who are humble in critiques but willing to defend their work. You’ll be responsible for maintaining LPF social platforms and staying current with the latest social media and design trends. Additionally, we will work with you to receive class credit for the internship. Our intern/s will be expected to commit 15 hours a week for at least one semester (spring, summer, or fall).

Who is the Lincoln Parks Foundation?

Lincoln has an impressive parks and recreation system that includes 128 parks, 85 playgrounds,133 miles of trails,10 pools, five recreation centers and five public golf courses. Excellent amenities like these are important for our community’s quality of life and economic development.

It’s our mission to inspire and nurture a philanthropic legacy for parks and recreation in our community. As a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we work in partnership with the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department. Likewise, we partner with the community as well. With help from individuals, corporate donors, and other charitable foundations, we’re able to bolster our efforts to sustain and improve the parks system.

Internship Responsibilities:

-Navigate the ins and outs of Facebook and Twitter from a marketing perspective
-Research and implement current social trends without direction
-Compile timely analytics reports for the foundation and strategize how to improve our social media presence
-Create strategic content through excellent writing skills
-Monitor and manage LPF social platforms daily
-Assist in campaign ideation and execution
-Create/curate daily web graphics for LPF social media platforms
-Prepare print documents and digital presentations for office use

Preferred Qualifications:

We love bloggers, coders, illustrators and photographers, so let us know if you have any hidden talents that you can bring to the table!
-Considerable familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop), and Microsoft programs (PowerPoint and Word)
-Ability to multitask with a variety of responsibilities
-Ability to work in an independent and team environment
-Be passionate about work and open to feedback
