Producer - IANR Media

The producer is responsible for managing, conceptualizing design development of electronic video/audio materials based on adult learning and distance education theories including but not limited to scriptwriting, television production, hosting, video shooting, graphics production and other duties of video production. Includes work in multi-media, digital video production, web and video streaming knowledge. Uses sophisticated software programs to create materials for broadcast and the web. Serves as the host of the Market Journal television program. Conducts interviews of faculty, staff, administrators, policy makers, subject matter experts and industry representatives from the state, the US and Internationally. Position utilizes an understanding and skill in the use of digital video and audio, video streaming, journalism, agriculture and the mission of the land-grant university. The position is often directly involved in video production and marketing of products.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in journalism or related field with two years’ experience producing broadcast news, video production (writing, shooting, editing), preparation of audio/video media for distribution via broadcast stations and the Internet and taking a video production project from beginning to end. Work history will show working knowledge of radio and video news writing, reporting and production, audio and video production. Must be able to work well in a team setting and show strong leadership and management skills. Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Time management skills needed. Additional required skills include research skills, project management independent thought and decision making.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in agricultural journalism or a Master’s degree in journalism or related field p. On-air broadcast presentation skills, ability to conduct background and broadcast interviews, research and investigative reporting skills are desirable. Experience in an agricultural communications organization is helpful.

Among other duties, this person would host the agricultural news program, Market Journal, which airs on NET and RFD-TV.
