Engagement and Communications Intern - Ameritas Life Insurance Corporation (Lincoln, NE)

Ameritas Life Insurance Corp is looking for an Engagement and Communication Intern to drive the business by creating and implementing internal engagement activities including, but not limited to, enterprise committees, curriculum, engagement, & additional HR internal communication. Associate will create, coordinate, brand and support engagement and development functions within our organization.

Essential Job Functions:
- Support the OD & Communication Manager regarding various parts of associate engagement through: committees, curriculum, recognition events, communication, annual engagement survey and campaign, etc.
- Assist in planning and implementation of associate/company achievement recognition events at the Home Office, Fallbrook, & Cincinnati. (examples: annual associate recognition event, holiday lunch, holiday hello, veteran's day presentation, etc.)
- Support the OD & Communication Manager regarding the creation and branding of enterprise curriculum including designing training materials for HRBP teams, discussion guides and resources for Managers.
- Support the OD & Communication Manager regarding the annual engagement survey. Create branding and year-long promotion of the survey. Create education and tools to support managers and all associates about engagement. Support HRBP teams in reports and access for managers.
- Support, create, and implement ad-hoc events as they come along such as "Bring your child to work day," learn and lunches, etc.
- Responsible for the internal volunteer hours project - including promotion of the project, design & promote ways for more engagement in the project, & volunteer of the quarter recognition with the presentation, article, and check disbursement.
- Support enterprise committees in the big six locations (Fallbrook, Home Office, Cincinnati, San Antonio, Wayne, & Minnetonka) through alignment, creating communication, promotion, budgets, etc.
- Coordinates associate services and product discounts.
- Assist with support and management of associate sport leagues.
- Coordinate and publicize the internal Read2Lead book discussion program.
- Create internal human resource communication to be put in newsletters, the intranet, and other communication vehicles.
- Back up to the receptionist.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year college completed.
- Able to work year round. FT during the summer, 16-20 during school year.
- Enrolled in a school program to obtain a degree in communications, human resources, public relations, business or related area.
- Superior time management, project planning, situational adaptability and communication skills.
- Must be proficient in excel.
- Understanding of the enterprise's mission, vision, core values, philosophy and brand, in addition to industry issues, is helpful.
