Chief Meteorologist - News Channel Nebraska (Norfolk, NE)

News Channel Nebraska, an in-state network of television stations operating a 24/7 news channel covering the entire state of Nebraska, has an immediate opening for a high-energy, aggressive, creative and hard-working Chief Meteorologist. The successful candidate should have the ability to communicate weather information to viewers clearly and effectively. That includes the ability to carry the station wall-to-wall during severe weather.

The successful candidate should also be able to deliver timely and accurate forecasts, and act as a mentor to other members of the staff. Knowledge of and ability to operate the Accuweather StormDirector+ is helpful. NWA & AMS seals also helpful. We are looking for a knowledgeable forecaster who will engage the audience, be active in the community, build on the successes at the station, and take our weather coverage to the next level. Qualifications and Skills:
A Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or a related field is necessary. Broadcast experience is helpful. NWA & AMS seals are also helpful.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Produce and deliver clear and accurate weather forecasts on a daily basis. Carry the station during wall-to-wall severe weather coverage. Train and mentor other members of the staff.
