Our search engine optimization & content strategy team is seeking a SEO & Digital Content Marketing Intern starting summer 2019 for a 3 to 6 month opportunity to assist in areas like keyword research, content strategy, and technical optimization for Hayneedle.com and our blog. The ideal candidate will possess a mix of analytical problem solving, written communication, and creative thinking skills.
This role will report to the SEO Analyst and will be based at Hayneedle HQ in Omaha, Nebraska.
WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO:
> Learn and optimize basic on-page SEO elements that follow Google’s webmaster guidelines throughout our ecommerce site
> Conduct keyword research to identify new ranking opportunities within key home categories to help increase organic search visibility and brand awareness
> Brainstorm and research topics for articles, buying guides, and other home related content for our blog and ecommerce site (hayneedle.com)
> Fix technical errors such as broken links and duplicate content
> Help build blog posts on our WordPress platform while also applying SEO best practices
> Help execute SEO tests and measure results by analyzing rankings, traffic, and performance metrics
> Analyze competitors to understand tactical gaps and present opportunities and recommendations to the team for possible implementation
> Manage your own projects and communicate findings to the SEO team and other marketing departments such as creative/editorial, social marketing, and site marketing
WHO YOU ARE:
> Be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university required (preferably at a Junior or Senior level)
> Interest in emerging trends in technology and marketing with an eagerness to understand growth strategies in the ecommerce industry
> Intellectually curious with strong problem solving skills and an exceptional ability to communicate new ideas and findings verbally and in writing
> A good balance of analytical and creative thinking with prowess in analyzing and interpreting data
> Team player who is a self-starter and is able to thrive in fast-paced, results-oriented environment
