1011NOW is looking for a versatile journalist that can effectively tell the most compelling stories of the day, whether spot news, enterprise reporting, or compelling sports content.
You will be a key generator of local news stories, live reports, compelling video, and will have frequent opportunities to cover local and state sports, including the Nebraska Cornhuskers. You will also have occasional opportunities to produce and anchor sportscasts, as the primary sports anchor fill-in.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
> Enterprise story ideas that matter to viewers in Lincoln
> Serve as the a fill-in sports anchor and producer as needed
> Execute all aspects of storytelling, scheduling shoots and interviews, shooting video, writing scripts, editing, and going live as needed
> Be a multi-platform storyteller, with regular posts to social media and the station's website and news apps
> Meet tight daily deadlines
> Respond urgently and appropriately to breaking and developing news
Requirements:
> At least two (2) years of professional newsroom experience
> Anchoring, producing, and reporting experience
> An engaging and comfortable on-air personality
> The ability to enterprise and produce compelling content from start to finish
> The ability to use exceptional judgment to prioritize tasks and assignments
