Global Café: Coffee with a Diplomat - Thursday, April 11th - Oldfather Hall

UNL Global Studies presents: Global Café: Coffee with a Diplomat.

Students are invited to come to the Global Café: Coffee with a Diplomat, Thursday, April 11th, 3:30 - 4:30 pm in Oldfather Hall 827. During the Café, Diplomat in Residence Ms. Kristin Stewart will talk about career opportunities in Foreign Service including the Pathways Program, US Department of State Internships, and other opportunities to help students reach their career goals.

Kristin Stewart has served as a career member of the U.S. Foreign Service since 2002. Before assuming her current position as Diplomat in Residence at the University of Oklahoma, she was the Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Consulate in Basrah, Iraq.

Including her assignment in Iraq, Kristin has served in diplomatic assignments at six overseas posts. Prior assignments include: Public Affairs Officer in Panama City, Panama (2013-2016); Cultural Affairs Officer in Dakar, Senegal (2009-2013); Press Officer in Managua, Nicaragua (2006-09); Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer in Mexico City, Mexico (2004-06); and Vice Consul and Assistant to the Ambassador in Bogota, Colombia (2002-04). Temporary duty assignments have taken her to Argentina, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guinea Bissau, Mali, South Africa, and Suriname.
