Marketing and Communications Associate - UNL CoJMC (Lincoln, NE)

Under the supervision of the business and operations manager, the marketing and communications associate is a key member of the College of Journalism and Mass Communications' marketing and communications team and supports all aspects of content production and targeted outreach. The position will work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students to coordinate and execute the college’s ongoing communications activities; originate written and visual content that is in line with the university’s brand; be responsible for the creation and dissemination of stories, press releases, newsletters and other communication materials tailored to specific audiences; plan, coordinate and create content for digital media platforms including the college’s social media channels; maintain and update the college’s website and assist with the development and creation of other promotional materials. Maintaining a compelling and consistent identity for the College in all print and digital communications is a core function of this role.

Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, public relations, communications, journalism or related field plus one (1) year of experience writing for a variety of communication platforms including publications, websites and social media required; equivalent education/experience considered. Experience engaging audiences across multiple channels necessary. Demonstrated use of both traditional and emerging media platforms essential. Must have excellent writing and editing skills. Knowledge of Associate Press (AP) style required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite or an appropriate alternative necessary. Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
