IANR COVID Testing for IANR Faculty and Staff

We are proud to offer IANR Saliva Based COVID-19 testing to IANR faculty and staff, including county-employed assistants and support staff, across the state. This is one of many ways that we can mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

As you consider taking a saliva-based COVID-19 test through this initiative, a few reminders:

• Testing is inclusive and voluntary: All current IANR employees and county-employed assistants and support staff, can participate in this testing initiative. Testing is voluntary, and we highly encourage you to take advantage of this employer-supported opportunity.

• Statewide saliva testing webpage: Visit the webpage to learn more about the locations that offer testing, on what days and at what times they will be collecting samples, and how to prepare for a test. Information is available here (using your UNL credentials): https://myextension.unl.edu/statewide-saliva-testing

• Prepare to take a test: On the statewide saliva testing webpage, be sure to watch the how-to video and read the “do and don’t” list. Knowing this information will help make your personal testing experience better.

• Call ahead if you plan to test: Offices and units that offer testing have volunteered to do this on top of their day-to-day routines. Please call ahead, preferably the day before, to confirm that they will be available to offer you the test and so that they can prepare for your arrival.

• Be patient and understanding: Exercise patience and understanding with sample collectors as they assist you. They will be following specific protocols developed by the team that implemented testing on campus, and the protocols have been designed carefully. Remember, the sample collectors are there to help you.
