Participation at Fall Conference

Extension Personnel (Specialists, Professors, Educators, Assistants/Associates)

The 2023 Extension Fall Conference is scheduled for November 14 & 15 in Kearney, NE. The expectation is that all personnel with an Extension appointment will attend the fall conference. If needed, please adjust your schedule. Extension is your priority for those two days. I am asking unit leaders to encourage and enable your attendance, as well as their own.

At fall conference we will be introducing PEARS as the primary data management tool for Nebraska Extension. The rollout of PEARS will coincide with Extension’s 2024 program planning process which will include the creation of Individual Action plans, the tracking of Program Activities and Success Stories, the end-of-year completion of Individual Action Plan Outcomes, the development of Individual Impact Statements, and the ability to quantify Community Relationships to name a few.

Why?

Our university leadership, our stakeholders, our funders, our public leaders and our public are asking “What is Extension doing for me and what is the impact?” Extension has been directed to develop KIP’s (Key Indicators of Progress) to tell our story of how we are meeting the needs of Nebraskans through the Big 3. These KIP’s will have a direct impact on our future funding. The KIP’s will be formulated via the information collected above. More details on the KIP’s will be coming.

Schedules fill up quickly and it is easy to put off the Fall Conference. We need you in Kearney!

If you have questions, talk to me.

I look forward to seeing each of you in Kearney.
