There is still time to schedule a training for your offices! Email Josh Yox at josh.yox@nebraska.gov. Josh will create the registration for you and take care of organizing the instructors. In addition to Stop the Bleed, ask Josh about CPR/First Aid training, You Are the Help Until Help Arrives, Disaster Psychological First Aid and CERT Basic (2 days).

Frequently Asked Question: Where can we get tourniquets?

One of the many questions we get in Stop the Bleed trainings are about tourniquets and where to buy them. Did you know that not all tourniquets are the same?

Do not buy a tourniquet because it is the least expensive you can find. The last thing you want to have happen is for the windlass on the tourniquet to break while using it to save a life. The windlass is the part you twist on the tourniquet to stop the flow of blood after an injury.

Recommended: North American Rescue C-A-T (Combat Application Tourniquet). Orange is for use in emergencies – you want this color. The blue colored tourniquets are for training. These are available on Amazon and directly from North American Rescue.

Tourniquets are for one-time use and hopefully, you will never need to replace one. Consider keeping a tourniquet in your vehicle(s) and disaster kit. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
