Archived Story: This article is part of our newsletter archives. It has been preserved for reference, but the information may no longer be current.

Emergency Action Plans (EAP) outline the procedures and information staff can use in the event of an emergency. Your office/unit EAPs should be updated continually as the need arises (i.e. someone retires/resigns, someone new joins the office, change of office location, etc.).

It is recommended that you practice your Emergency Action Plan at least two times a year (or more). Hold an impromptu fire or tornado drill, practice your communications plan, identify the location of your first aid kits/AED devices, and disaster kits. By practicing your plan, you’ll be better prepared for emergencies when they happen.

Reminder: The current EAP submission window is September 1 through October 31 for Zones 2, 3, and 6
• Creating Your EAP Office Hours – Wednesday, October 11, 2 p.m. CT/1 p.m. MT. A Zoom invitation was sent to Zones 2, 3, and 6.
