Home Energy Efficiency is New Feature on University of Nebraska Lincoln Extension Web Site

A new home energy Web site at http://nehomeenergy.unl.edu provides information and video to assist consumers in making decisions to reduce energy use in their homes. Each U.S. household spends about $2,000 a year on utility bills. Unfortunately, a large portion of that energy is wasted. Improving energy use in homes through efficiency practices and products can save money, conserve resources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Nebraska home energy resource area offers information focuses on Money Saving Ideas, Lighting, Appliances and Electronics, Weatherization, Heating and Cooling, Windows and Doors, Design and Innovations, and Healthy and Efficient Homes. If you have questions or would like to add information to the website, contact the home energy group in the Water, Climate and Environment spire, contact Carroll Welte or Lorene Bartos.

You will find the information by clicking on the Water and Environment navigation section of the Extension Web site. Funding for the home energy content development was made possible in part through a grant from the Nebraska Environmental Trust. The grants are funded through the proceeds of the Nebraska Lottery.

We will have posters and bookmarks available in quantity for you to pick up at your convenience to help let the public know.
