It has been a truly exciting fall semester in the Office of Admissions. Counties have done a great job of connecting with perspective students and sending their contact information to us. I am excited to say, that through everyone’s hard work, Extension has already met one of their student recruitment goals for the current recruiting cycle, 5 months early! As everyone knows, the goal was to collect 2,500 touchpoints by May 1, 2015 and you have met that goal already with 2, 501 touchpoints on December 10th. Additionally, you are over half way to meeting the contact goal. The goal is to collect 3,250 contacts by May 1 and you have currently collected 2,199 contacts.
With all of this success, we know there are some very hard working people across the state. With that being said, don’t forget to submit your recruitment recognition nominations by December 31st. The nominations can be submitted at 4h.unl.edu/recruiting. Also, don’t forget to include the recruitment successes you have had this year in your 2014 Activity Insight and then make sure to build some recruitment goals into your 2015 plans.
A few last reminders….
1. The Nebraska resident scholarship deadline is January 15, 2015. Students must apply to UNL by this date in order to qualify for any academic based scholarships.
2. If you are awarding any county based college scholarships, don’t forget to send your recipients to Micaela Rahe in the Office of Admissions. Micaela will then review these students again, to see if the Office of Admissions can award them additional scholarship dollars.
3. Lastly, Save the Date for the 2015 Student Recruitment Training. Training will held April 29 and 30 on UNL’s campus. There will be tours of the new East Campus Recreation Center and Innovation Campus facilities. A keynote speaker will be brought in to talk about financial literacy, campus diversity, and early college programming. Registration will open in February.
