Curation Technologies

Recently, I have received several inquiries regarding content curation technologies. People are interested in sharing content around particular subject matter topics with target audiences. In some cases they want to share content they are generating, but more often they are interested in sharing content from multiple sources they believe relevant to a topic. As you might suspect, there are a number of technologies to choose from, each offering unique features and advantages. Besides social media, applications such as Scoop.it, Paper.li, and Storify are popular. For more information please visit the Centre for Learning & Performance Technologies, Jane Hart's independent website about learning trends, technologies and tools. Annually, she conducts a survey to identify top learning technologies. Results are organized into a “best of breed” listing and there is a category on curation technologies. I would add, that recently eXtension has begun using RebelMouse (rebelmouse.com), a technology for aggregating and curating social content.
