February 15, 2019, marks 150 years since the day the state of Nebraska chartered the University of Nebraska. This means that on February 15, 1869, the University of Nebraska became a part of the fabric of our state. Nebraska Extension is perfectly positioned to take this celebrations state-wide. A small team has been working to coordinate a variety of suggested events, activities, and resources for this occasion. A summary of these is provided below.

N|150 Events & Activities
Charter Day – February 15
-- Host Local Events on Charter Day
-- N|150 Ice Cream and Cookies in the N|150 shape.
-- Pull-up banners are available for 4-H contests, extension trainings, and other local events. Two banners will be housed at each district office and one will be available at the state office.

-- Enter County/Office and Contact Person for one or both banners under the requested days. Banner pick-up and drop off is the responsibility of the county/office making the reservation.
Glow Big Red – February 14 & 15
-- Wear-Tec Activity – An adapted Wear-Tec activity where kids make light-up bow-ties with the N|150 logo and 4-H Clover.
-- Participants who complete the activity will receive an N|150 Glow Bracelet

N|150 items for campus and county offices – These will be distributed equally among all county, district, and state offices at the annual January 4-H In-service in Lincoln (Jan 22-24).

Flat Herbie
-- Flat Herbie is here to celebrate this milestone. Cut out Herbie and make him part of your community by taking him on a tour of your town. Snap a picture of him at local events, favorite landmarks, or 4-H activities. Upload the pictures to your social media channels with #N150Herbie or email us at nebraska4h@unl.edu. We encourage everyone (students, faculty, staff, 4-H families, and alumni) to get in on the fun with Flat Herbie throughout 2019! The first 10 participants in each county will receive a red glowing bouncy ball!
Participate during the month of February to win the Grand Prize!
-- All photos submitted during Nebraska 4-H Month will be included in the N|150 Grand Prize Drawing, sponsored by Nebraska 4-H. Two winners will receive a UNL Prize Pack, filled with Husker Gear!
State Fair Stepping Stone Showcase
-- 4-H members are invited to show their creativity and University of Nebraska pride by creating a stepping stone that represents the N|150 milestone. Stepping stones will be exhibited at local counties fairs, and one stepping stone from each county will be chosen to be displayed at the Nebraska State Fair at the Raising Nebraska landscape. State Fair Photography Class
-- 4-H members enrolled in Mastering Photography Unit 3 are invited to celebrate N|150 by exhibiting in the Theme Print (Class B182060) at their local counties fairs. The top exhibit(s) from each county will be selected to advance to the Nebraska State Fair. February 15, 2019 marks 150 years of history to appreciate, impact to unpack, and stories to tell.
