Digital Scholarship @UNL
The faculty at the Law College are very active scholars and write many articles and book chapters. Finding and reading their work has never been easier than now with our participation in the University's Digital Commons. UNL's Digital Commons is one of the largest ands most active in the world. In fact, UNL was a pioneer of the concept.
The UNL Digital Commons is the University’s Institutional Digital Repository, which means that it's a place where the scholarship of our faculty is also stored online by the University Libraries. Known as Digital Commons, it houses 62,460 works (mostly articles published in various national and international journals) in 676 disciplines! Categories include an Open Access Archive, Peer-Reviewed Journals and Series (open-access), and UNL Dissertations from ProQuest. UNL's Digital Commons download figures are staggering: to date, it has seen nearly 17 million downloads, and over 6 million in the last year alone!
The Law College has several collections available in the UNL Digital Commons these include: Books by College of Law Faculty, Faculty Publications, Documents on Water Law, Documents on Outer Space Law, Nebraska State Constitution, Space & Telecommunications Law Program Faculty Publications, Schmid Law Library Faculty Publications and The Nebraska Transcript.
The online archive of the Nebraska Law Review is also available in this collection, http://digitalcommons.unl.edu/nlr/

Lexis Users Take Note
Beginning this summer, Lexis's new platform, Lexis Advance (http://advance.lexis.com/) will become the primary means for using Lexis. All regular LexisNexis passwords will be discontinued and you will be required to use your new Lexis Advance login credentials. If you haven't done so already, you should be given an option to set up your Advance account when you login. We recommend that you take the time now to register for your Lexis Advance account in advance of the switchover. If you have questions about how to do this, please see one of the librarians.

The Library of Congress has launched a new series of online resources, called "Beginner's Guides" (http://blogs.loc.gov/law/?s=beginner's+guide%20). This site offers research guides on several law topics. At present there are only four guides available, but they are outstanding: Employment Law, Immigration Law, Congressional Voting Records and Executive Orders.
A few weeks ago, we reported about a new multi-jurisdictional service that gives users a means to track state legislation in all fifty states, OpenStates.org (http://www.openstates.org/). They have recently announced an iPad/iPhone app (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/open-states/id500672932?mt=8) that allows you to track state legislation conveniently and intuitively. Legislation junkies can now keep track of state law developments anywhere….
