Please remember that you must be an SBA member to run for class office or vote in the election.

If you are interested in running for a class officer position, please carefully review the documents that were emailed. Be sure and review the SBA bylaws and complete three forms needed to be placed on the ballot.

The candidate information sheet gives you an opportunity to let your classmates know why you would be a great 1L class officer.

The signature sheet requires ten (10) signatures from SBA members.

The disclosure sheet acknowledges that you understand the most pertinent SBA bylaw provisions pertaining to elections prior to running for office.

You may run for one of four 1L class officer positions. While they all represent the Class of 2016, each position has different duties and responsibilities:

The 1L Class President organizes Meeting of the Minds in the spring semester, which is a mixer between students and faculty held in downtown Lincoln.

The 1L Vice President organizes Family Fun Day, which gives students a chance to bring their children and families to the law school for a day focusing on getting to know each other’s families.

Two 1L Class Representatives organize Canned Immunity, a food drive for the Lincoln Food Bank which occurs in the fall semester.
Additionally, all four 1L class officers are responsible for cleaning the kitchen each week.
