The Women and the Law Section of the NSBA, in collaboration with Film Streams and Drinks Among Friends, invites you to join us for a special screening of the film ANITA at the Ruth Sokolof Theater in Omaha on July 30, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
The film documents Anita Hill’s testimony at the Supreme Court confirmation hearings of Clarence Thomas. After the film, there will be a panel discussion on shifting gender roles in corporate America, the practice of law, and the complexities of “speaking truth to power.” Tickets for the screening are $9 general, $7 for seniors, students, teachers, military, and those arriving by bicycle, and $4.50 for Film Streams Members.
Prior to the event, the Section will be hosting a networking event with Drinks Among Friends. Drinks Among Friends is a group committed to providing an environment where women in the legal community support and empower other women in the practice of law, both in private practice and in-house practice. More details on the location and time of the networking event to come!
For more information on ANITA and how to purchase tickets in advance, please see the press release from Film Streams.
