All 2Ls and 3Ls need to attend their respective "Welcome Back" sessions the first week of classes. During these mandatory sessions, you will be given critical information from Dean Pierce and the Career Services Office about the upcoming school year. The Welcome Back for 3Ls is Tuesday, August 23rd, and the session for the 2Ls is Wednesday, August 24th. Both sessions are from 12 to 1 in the auditorium.

On Thursday, August 25th, Michael BOOMgarden from the US Department of Justice will be here to discuss applying with and working for the DOJ. If you are interested in the DOJ, or working for the Federal Government in general, this program is a must to attend! There are many ins and outs associated with applying with these Departments, so come and learn about how to increase the chances of your application making it through the first round and how to make yourself standout from other candidates. We'll get started in the auditorium at 12:10 and end around 1. Lunch will be provided so make sure to RSVP in ROSCOE.

There have been some changes made to the Career Services Office this summer so we're having an Open House on Friday, August 26th from 10:30 to 12:30. Stop by to meet the CSO staff, chat about your summer, have a cup of coffee or a snack, and maybe even set up an appointment to discuss your resume or job search!

Finally, this Fall we are launching a new series titled "Exploring Opportunities." These programs, open to ALL students, are aimed at helping you determine the answer to the ever daunting question…"what kind of law do you want to practice?" Each program will focus on a specific area of practice and feature a panel of attorneys in that specified field from firms and organizations of all different shapes, sizes and locations. EO programs for the Fall semester are: Estate Planning, Family Law, Criminal Prosecution, Personal Injury, Patent Law and Intellectual Property, Environmental and Agricultural Law, and Business Transactions. See ROSCOE for more information and to RSVP.

Have a great start to your semester! I hope to see many of you at these great programs and look forward to helping you with any career planning questions!
