Chancellor’s Distinguished Lecture Series: The Drone Age is Here, and We’re Screwing It Up

College of Journalism and Mass Communications professor Matthew Waite, will present “The Drone Age is Here, and We’re Screwing It Up” on November 8th at 3:30 p.m. in the Nebraska Union auditorium. The Nebraska Lecture is part of the Chancellor’s Distinguished Lecture Series.

Waite, professor of practice in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, will discuss how developing drone regulations in the U.S. presents many of the legal and ethical dilemmas faced by the aviation industry a century ago. He will talk about how drone use has reignited debates on the First Amendment, property and privacy principles, and federalism.
