“The Billion Dollar Question: Who Owns The Moon?”
With the prospect of mining of asteroids - legally speaking, in the same basket as the Moon - legal issues arise regarding the legal status of celestial bodies and any natural resources to be found there. The talk will address both the international context and the specific effort by the United States to address those issues by way of the 2015 Commercial Space Launch Competitiveness Act.
