The Platte County Bar Association Foundation (PCBAF) will be annually be awarding a $1,000.00 scholarship to a student attending an accredited law school.
ELIGIBILITY
1. Applicant must be a graduate of a high school located in Platte County.
2. Applicant must be accepted to or attending an accredited law school.
3. This scholarship is open to first year as well as upper-class law students.
4. Previous winners of the scholarship are eligible upon reapplication.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. Applicants must submit an official college transcript from the college most recently attended.
2. Applicants must submit a copy of their letter of acceptance from the institution of choice, or if currently enrolled, submit documentation of scheduled courses for the upcoming semester.
3. Applicants must complete and sign an official application.
4 Applicants must submit a typed 200-250 word essay on a topic chosen by PCBAF.
JUDGING
1. Judging will be accomplished by an impartial panel selected by PCBAF.
2. All entries must be postmarked not later than October 15, 2018. Submit entries to:

3. The winner will be notified prior to November 15, 2018.
4. All scholarship entries become the exclusive property of the PCBAF.
ADMINISTRATIVE/AWARD PROCEDURES
1. Winners must begin studies within one year of the date of written notification of
the scholarship award.
2. Scholarship funds will be paid to the institution on behalf of the recipient within three months
of the date of written notification of the scholarship award.
3. Funds are to be used only for tuition, room and board, or books and will be paid directly to the institution on behalf of the recipient.
AUTHORITY OF PCBAF
1. PCBAF has the authority to amend any of the above rules to ensure fairness in awarding the scholarship.
