Business and in-house counsel jobs are often less visible than their law firm counterparts and there is often less clarity on how to find one of these jobs. Because a company may only hire once every few years and typically desires several years of legal experience, there is often a lack of representation at OCIs and other networking events which can make it hard for an interested law student to find information or opportunities. Likewise, business and transactional positions may be underrepresented in the law firm setting as well, especially locally. This panel of recent Nebraska Law grads will discuss their paths to finding in-house or business transactional jobs, their day-to-day work, and the steps that they took to prepare for their careers.
