A glance at Nebraska Today headlines from two years ago recalls the rapid pace at which the COVID-19 pandemic changed our lives. Beyond the events represented in headlines, we all hold stories about our pandemic experiences. These accounts, together, reveal a broader and richer shared history than that captured in the news alone. To document the University community’s shared history, Archives & Special Collections created the COVID-19 Digital Archive.

The COVID-19 Archive collects, presents, and preserves digital items related to the pandemic and its ongoing effects. Archives & Special Collections continues to accept items on the site and encourages students, employees, and alumni to add their experiences. No story is too small. Submissions can be as brief as a single photo or a few sentences. Video, audio, image, and text files can be easily uploaded to the site, where they are reviewed by Archives’ staff before being made public.

For questions regarding the COVID-19 Archive, please contact Outreach Archivist Traci Robison at trobison2@unl.edu.
