Registration is now open for the 2022 Winter Maintenance Workshop to be held May 11-12 at Fonner Park in Grand Island. The event brings together equipment operators from across the state to compete on different types of equipment, network, and learn from industry experts.
The competitions will be held on May 11 in Loader, Mini Excavator (in lieu of Backhoe this year), Motor Grader, Skid Steer, and Truck Plow (team). Operators who win each event will receive a travel reimbursement stipend from the Nebraska Section of the American Public Works Association to represent Nebraska at a national event like the Western Snow and Ice Conference in Loveland, Colorado in September.
The conference program will include programs on dust control solutions for unpaved roads, particularly what motor grader operators can do to make applied treatments more successful, mentoring to on-board and retain employees, and innovation in the local public agency.
Registration will include competition and volunteer sign-up. We encourage you to consider volunteering as a judge or assistant with the skill tests, as well. Administering the event takes almost as many people as there are competitors.
