• The Pickering Fellowship identifies and attracts, based on financial need, outstanding students who represent racial, ethnic, gender, social and geographic diversity and prepares them academically and professionally for a career in the U.S. Department of State Foreign Service by providing financial support, mentoring and professional development.
• The Rangel Graduate Fellowship Program seeks to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers as Foreign Service Officers in the U.S. Department of State. The fellowship provides support for graduate studies, domestic and overseas internships, and mentoring for careers in the Foreign Service.

GRE PREPARATION FOR HEALTH SCHOOL APPLICATIONS

• This session is for students applying to a professional health school that requires the GRE. This session will cover the format of the GRE, exam preparation timelines, and helpful resources for GRE preparation.
GLOBAL CAFÉ: CAREERS IN ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZING

• Come and learn all about Green Corps, country’s most respected training program for environmental organizers, with nearly 400 of their graduates at work today on the most urgent environmental issues of our time. If you’re passionate about the environment and ready to learn and practice the craft of organizing, our yearlong program is the best place to start.
• We will be meeting with global studies alumna and current Green Corps Development Associate Audrey Beedle. She'll be discussing different opportunities and the application process. All majors and minors welcome.

UCARE INFORMATION SESSIONS
• The UCARE program allows students to work one-on-one with a faculty mentor to gain research experience and related skills. The program can enhance applications to graduate school and better prepare students for a career.
• Participants receive an annual stipend of $2,400. UCARE is open to students in all majors and disciplines.
• Upcoming application information sessions introduce students to the UCARE program and provide guidance on finding a project, approaching a prospective mentor, and writing an application proposal. The sessions are for funding in summer 2020 and the 2020-21 academic year.

INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP RETREAT AVAILABLE FOR STUDENTS
• Inclusive Leadership Retreats are designed to help students think deeply about how to lead inclusively and to take on leadership roles — in the classroom, in university clubs or organizations, and in their communities.
• Students who participate in this retreat are prepared to apply for university leadership positions, including peer mentors and consultants, RSO positions, NSE leaders, resident assistants, and college and research ambassadors. Participants are also certified to serve as facilitators for Husker Dialogues, a campus event for first-year students held each fall.

Marine Officers Program

About Marine Officers Program: The Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) and Officer Candidate Course (OCC) programs are two paths for civilian college students to earn a commission in the Marine Corps. A student must be a full-time college student (freshmen, sophomore, junior or senior) or college graduate to qualify for the program. We offer a competitive salary and benefits. 30 days paid vacation and 10 federal holidays each year. Medical, dental and vision care are provided to all service members (and their dependents) at no cost. Substantial retirement benefits are available and vary depending on years of active service. Service members are eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill for graduate/professional education after serving 3 years on active duty. Financial/Tuition assistance is available up to $8,000 per year. For undergraduates, all training is completed during the summer. For graduates, training can take place year round. Officer Candidates attend Officer Candidate School for either two separate 6-week sessions or one 10-week session and are paid while in training. All travel expenses are reimbursed.
