Advising Updates

Hello Math Majors,

Welcome back from the Thanksgiving break! I have never quite understood why you get two days off in October when you could be given the whole week of Thanksgiving off, but I'm sure you appreciated the break that you did have. There is only one more week of classes prior to "dead week", so some of you may have exams to prepare for this week. If that is the case, I hope you were able to spend some time studying during your break (but not too much). Good luck with those final projects and exams prior to finals week!

I know that there are a few of you who haven't enrolled in classes for the Spring 2020 semester yet. If you are one of those people, I would be happy to meet with you to discuss classes for the Spring 2020 semester to make sure that you are on track to finish your degree when you want to graduate. I also know that I few of you are currently on academic probation, and you have a hold that is preventing you from enrolling in classes for the spring semester. I can help you with this hold if you come see me, but I can't help if you don't take action. Please know that I am here to help if I can, and I want to see you succeed academically, professionally, and personally.

The end of the semester time is always extremely busy, so please remember to take some time for yourself. Try to get plenty of sleep around your study time and work hours. If you are having trouble finding a balance, I would be glad to help you. Please don't hesitate to schedule a meeting with me or visit me on a Walk-in Wednesday!

Starting this past summer, ALL University email messages are going to your @huskers.unl.edu email address regardless of your email preferences on MyRed. You MUST check your @huskers.unl.edu email address regularly to stay up-to-date with important announcements from the University. If you would like more information about this change, please visit https://its.unl.edu/helpcenter/student-email-migration/ and review the current student tab of information. All students will be expected to be reviewing their @huskers.unl.edu email address, so if you miss an important piece of information sent to this email, you will be held responsible for it. If you know your fellow classmates haven't switched over to using their @huskers.unl.edu email address, PLEASE give them this information.

Thanks,
Doug
