Seminar to Provide Overview of NSF’s Graduate Research Fellowships
Gisèle Muller-Parker, retired program director with the National Science Foundation, will present an April 15 seminar titled “Overview of the NSF’s Graduate Research Fellowship Program.”
Students in the STEM fields who are pursuing a research-based master’s or doctoral degree are eligible.. This includes senior undergraduate students graduating and going on to graduate school, graduate students in their first year, and graduate students in their second year. Thus, you can apply for this fellowship up to three times. The program solicitation is typically released by early August, with applications due in October or November depending on the discipline.
The seminar is scheduled at the Kauffman Residential Center's Great Hall from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm, with lunch to be served at 11:30 am. Online registration is available.
Muller-Parker served in several roles with NSF from 2008-19, retiring as program officer for the NSF INCLUDES Coordination Hub. Since retirement, she has been studying changes in policies and goals at the GRFP through its 67-year history. In addition to her seminar, Muller-Parker will be available for individual and small-group meetings from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m.
