BIOS 456: Mathematical Models in Biology
The School of Biological Sciences is offering their Mathematical Models in Biology course for the Spring 2021 semester. The course, BIOS 456: Mathematical Models in Biology, is described as follows:
Biological systems, from molecules to ecosystems, are analyzed using mathematical techniques. Strengths and weaknesses of mathematical approaches to biological questions. Brief review of college level math; introduction to modeling; oscillating systems in biology; randomness in biology; review of historically important and currently popular models in biology.
The BIOS 456 course has the following prerequisites: LIFE 120; LIFE 120L; LIFE 121; LIFE 121L; and MATH 107. It will be taught by Professor Clay Cressler on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 to 10:20 am in the web conferencing format.
