• In conversation about everything from the literary journal to the major commercial houses of New York, we’ll explore the various possibilities and opportunities when exploring a literary career.
• UNL alum DeMisty D. Bellinger is a teacher, writer, and editor, and she serves on the board of directors of Associated Writing Programs. This semester she is teaching “Composing Historical Poetry” at Sarah Lawrence College, exploring the role of research in writing poetry based on historical subjects. She teaches creative writing and courses in women, gender, and sexuality studies and African American studies at Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts.

Story, Worlds, + Speculative Design Lab Opening
• Story, Worlds + Speculative Design Lab is seeking 3+ undergraduates for the 2021-2022 academic year, summer and beyond. The ideal candidates will have a strong interest in interdisciplinary research, fiction, and worldbuilding and want to work on projects that will take place in-between the arts, sciences, emerging technology, architecture, design, engineering, computer science, and environmental studies. *No prior experience with art-making required.
• Because this is a call for an interdisciplinary cohort the skills and platforms may vary with each applicant and are flexible (this is not an exhaustive list) but may look something like:
o Computer Science: developer with experience using various programming languages that may include: JavaScript (D3.js library, jQuery framework, Basic PHP python, processing, machine learning, AI, GANS, GPT-3, and app mock-up/development, Unity or Unreal game engines
o Sciences + Environmental Studies: ecosystems, Biology, Chemistry, Medicine/Health (w/ interest in Speculative), Data + GIS, Networks
o Sociology et al: systems thinking and more
