Global Café: Careers in Conflict Prevention with USAID
Thursday, April 15th, 12:30-1:30pm CST, via Zoom
• Rob Horvath, Deputy Director of the Center for Conflict and Violence Prevention at USAID, will present on USAID’s work preventing conflict and violence around the globe. Mr. Horvath works on USAID’s dedicated team for technical and analytical expertise on peacebuilding, conflict, and violence prevention. In this role, he and his teammates respond to complex crises and opportunities to support countries on the road to self-reliance, and provide expert advice and services addressing conflict, communal violence, political transitions, stabilization, and extremism. This talk will allow students to learn about the work of this agency, as well as about career opportunities in the field of conflict prevention.

HireBig10+ Virtual Career Fair

• This event is all enrolled students at member schools of the Hire Big10+ Consortium. This event is a unique opportunity to meet with employers, discover new career opportunities, and make an impression.

Behavioral Health Professions/Student Conference

Huskers Abroad 101

• Attend a Huskers Abroad 101 session to take the first step toward going abroad. This session will cover researching program options, selecting a program, funding and the timeline for the process.
• Virtual sessions are held every week on Tuesday at 10:30am, Wednesday at 4:30pm, and Thursday at 2:00pm.
• Pre-registration is required. Once registered, a Zoom link will be emailed to your Huskers email account.

Summer Opportunity-Summer 2021 Data Collector with UNL - Bureau of Sociological Research
• The Bureau of Sociological Research (BOSR) has a new project coming up that involves the distribution of surveys and collection of contact information at various state park areas across the State of Nebraska and is in need of data collection help from May 2021 through the beginning of August 2021.
• Data collection needs to happen on Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday. This means each data collector would need to collect data during three weekends from May through August.
• We can also work to assign you to sites based on your availability and location of the park. We would do one-time payments that would include meal costs, travel expenses, data collection time, etc. There will also be training this Spring, along with COVID-19 safety procedures in place to make sure everyone stays safe while collecting these data.

• Take this opportunity to practice taking the LSAT under timed conditions. This practice exam will be in paper and pencil format, and not a digital format like the official LSAT exams. However, taking a practice LSAT under timed conditions will help you to practice your strategies and thought processes and hone your test-taking skills.
