Hello Math Majors,
I hope you are doing well and that final exam week has started well. This week, I want to remind you about somethings that could be important for you after or as the semester ends. I want to congratulate those students who will be graduating on Saturday! For those of you continuing on to the summer and/or fall semester, please be sure to reflect on your experience from this semester with an eye to making things better next semester.
Did you miss priority registration for the Fall 2022 semester which wrapped up last week? There is still plenty of time to enroll in classes for the upcoming summer and fall semesters, and I would urge you to spend some time planning out your courses. I am still available for both meetings and drop-in advising to help you with that planning, so please do not hesitate to see me for a meeting.
Do you have hold on your MyRed account that is blocking your ability to enroll in classes for the summer and/or fall semesters? Now is the time to get to work on getting this hold or holds removed from your record, and I would be glad to help with doing so in any way that I can. However, I normally cannot help with a hold unless you meet with me, but I would be happy to help with any questions that you have outside of a meeting.
Have you given any thought to what your plans are for the summer semester outside of classes? Summer semesters or breaks are a great time to gain practical experience. Practical experience can take on a number of different forms, and you would be surprised at what you can learn from a part time job. I would be happy to help you work on some plans for your summer semester or break if you are having trouble working out what you want to do or can do.

CAPS Undergraduate BIPOC Therapy Group Available
Counseling and Psychological Services has a Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Therapy group that currently meets on Wednesdays from 3:00-4:30pm on Zoom. This group is designed for undergraduate students of color to offer and receive support from peers as they develop self-awareness and insight on issues such as academics, imposter syndrome, micro-aggressions, isolation, loneliness, adjustment to college, and more. Since this is classified as a therapy group, each group member needs to be an official patient at CAPS, which consists of having an open file and having completed an Initial Evaluation appointment. At the initial evaluation appointment, students can share with the clinician that they are interested in the Undergrad BIPOC group, and the clinician can connect interested students with therapy group facilitators, Falesa and Derrick.
