We are excited to announce the new URA-Fermilab: Undergraduate Women in STEM internship program at Fermilab!

Sponsored by the Universities Research Association (URA), this program engages women science and engineering undergraduate students from under-represented groups (American Indian/Alaska Native, African American/Black, Hispanic/Latinos, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders) to conduct research at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) in fulfillment of its mission. Important Program Information

Program Dates: 10 weeks between June and August 2023

Eligibility:
- Women science and engineering majors from under-represented groups (American Indian/Native, African American/Black, Hispanic/Latinos, Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders)
- Academic disciplines: All Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science
- Enrolled full-time in a degree-granting program at a U.S. institution of higher education located in the U.S. or its territories
- Juniors and seniors not graduating prior to December 2023
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (LPR)

- Statement of Purpose (300 words max): Describe your experience, skills, personal and professional goals and intellectual curiosity that you will bring to Fermilab and make you an outstanding intern. (upload under resume section)
- One letter of recommendation from a professor, faculty, or academic or research advisor. The recommendation letter should address the applicant’s academic record and potential for success in a STEM internship, as indicated by demonstrated by academic and intellectual merit, research/technical if applicable, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. The recommendation letter must be received by April 12, 2023, at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time.
- All application components must be completed and received in the system by April 12, 2023, at 11:59:59 PM EST, to be considered.

Internship Details:
- Application Period: March 6 – April 12, 2023
- Program Dates: 10 weeks between June and August 2023
- Acceptance Dates: May 1, 2023
- Salary: Stipend is based on 40 hours/week, 10 weeks total, at $23/hour
- Housing: Off-campus housing will be provided at $65/night
- Transportation: Up to a total of $1,000 will be provided in reimbursement for allowable inbound/outbound travel expenses
