The University of Maryland Department of Mathematics reached out to advertise their Ph.D. program in Mathematics. The letter they sent included the following information:

The University of Maryland is situated just 30 minutes northeast of the heart of the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area, making it one of the nation's prime locations for potential job and research opportunities. UMD has many former mathematics students employed at government agencies such as NIH, NIST, and NSA.
